Fool on the Hill

To quote the Beatles song....

Everyone took flight for the extended weekend. Some went to Kili near the base for a campout. Others went to Nairobi to hang out with friends. Basically that left Eric and I to shred some hills on Mount Meru mountain biking! It was an action packed ride filled with cows, chickens, Maasai, elders, children, bomas, escarpments, streams, and rocks everywhere. We had a great time as we crested near a small village called Il Kadinga and stopped to have cokes.
About 10 people stood there and watched as we sipped away....its pretty rural so I understand.

The descent home was filled with riding through streams and seeing small pastoral squares often alongside the streams. The banana tree fields also make for good riding as we jump past small farm after farm.

We called this area "The Shire" (from Lord of the Rings for the non-geek). It was immaculately beautiful with the mountain stream cutting through, so peaceful it could only remind Eric and I where the hobbits live.

We got home and showered then immediately left down the road for supper at Stiggy's restaurant on the southeast part of town. We had pizza and steak which we thoroughly enjoyed. Now its about time to call it a day as Brooke is patiently waiting to talk via skype! Good day/night.
